Scope:
This course is based on the guidelines of IMO Model Course 1.12.
Course is intended for masters and deck officers of chemical tankers in the maintenance and operation of their ships in accordance with the provisions of MARPOL 73/78.
Objective:
After successful completion of the course the trainees should be able to:
- Correctly identify the categories of noxious liquid substances offered for shipment
- Take proper account of the potential impact of the marine environment of pollution by noxious liquid substances
- Ensure that correct use is made of the equipment with which chemical tankers are required to be provided
- Effectively protect the marine environment against pollution by noxious liquid substances carried in bulk on ship on which they serve.
